it's not often...

... these days that matt and i go out to see a movie in the theaters (rewatching dvds or on-demand is more cost-effective), but this wknd i saw this movie:

the corpse bride

i love tim burton movies. a fortunate gift from my mentor will add beetlejuice and nightmare before christmas to my collection of burton movies.

the movie was cute. very macabre in a toy-like way, as is typical burton.

i did get to see a preview of harry potter and the goblet of fire, my favorite in the hp series. it looks AWESOME. can't wait to see it. i really think it should be much better than that travesty film version of the prisoner of azkaban. maybe because the director of y tu mama tambien isn't directing this one.

lots of movies i want to see coming up - memoirs of a geisha (check out the preview if you haven't already!), which i'm excited to see since i loved the book. many of them are in [info]lololicious's recent entry about upcoming movies. they include x3, pirates of the caribbean, underworld: evolution, and the da vinci code.

====================================

my FF teams aren't doing so hot - i am 0-1-1 in one league, and 1-1-0 in the other. seems all my high-ranked picks turned out to have disappointing starts. i also had javon walker in both leagues - how lucky can i be? it's a long season, so i know it could go any which way - i still look fwd to each sunday :)

Hey Rita,

Glad you liked Corpse Bride -- it's on my list of movies to watch now. BTW, did you know it was shot frame-by-frame using Canon digital cameras?

hey jason! wow, are you serious? i find it so amazing how they can shoot all those frames and capture so much realistic expressions and movement. i love stop-motion films!

(rewatching dvds or on-demand is more cost-effective)....Derek and I are so into this. We totally don't mind re-watching movies. We watch most movies on-demand and the goods one we watch in the theatre. I want to see the corpse bride too. I also want to see memoirs of a geisha. It looks so good. I luv beetlejuice. I still have to see nightmare before christmas. I luv all Tim Burton movies too. How you seen charlie and the chocolate factory yet? That was another good movie by Tim Burton.

hi there! i noticed that you do a lot of makeup reviews and was wondering if you've found any good tinted moisturizers. i've tried Laura Mercier and i LOVED the color and dewey look, but it made my normally clear skin break out in those tiny cystic pimples. so sad. =( i'm trying the Stila one right now, but it's only been 2 days. any recs?

hi there, thanks for writing! unfortunately, i'm not really versed on tinted moisturizers, but what i can say is that i too get those tiny bumps on my face to various products. ESPECIALLY those with spf in it, which is a shame. sorry i couldn't be of more help :(

hmm maybe the SPF is what's doing it. that IS a shame. i just started trying MAC's select tint (which does have spf in it also) so we'll see how that goes. thanks! =)
